Emoie UI Rebrand & Microinteraction Design

Emoie is a User Interface rebrand project focused on reimagining the user experience of an existing app through refined flows and microinteractions. Inspired by the Daylio journaling app, this project centers on improving user clarity, rhythm, and emotional resonance within daily entries.

The redesign enhances the core task flow of creating a journal entry, beginning with personal user research to identify friction points in the original app. Through iterative sketches and refined interaction mapping, the project shifts the experience toward one that feels intuitive, fluid, and visually coherent.

Microinteractions and animations were created using the Jitter plugin in Figma to demonstrate how each action unfolds in real time. The visual identity and interaction system work together to elevate the journaling ritual, making each moment feel thoughtful, engaging, and seamlessly paced.

Final Animation Video

The final animation showcases the redesigned journaling task flow in real time, highlighting how microinteractions guide, affirm, and pace the user experience. Each transition was intentionally timed to reinforce clarity and reduce cognitive friction, creating a rhythm that feels responsive.

From mood selection to entry completion, the animation demonstrates how motion functions as both feedback and storytelling. This experience transforms a routine task into a reflective, emotionally engaging ritual.
