Tina’s Desk Space

This piece is a digital artifact created using Google Gemini, inspired by a trend I’ve been seeing: people visually recreating their desks using stickers, objects, and collage-like elements to reflect their personality and creative identity.

I was drawn to this format as a way to represent my creative identity through the small, everyday elements that shape how I think and design. My work is often influenced by collecting objects, journaling, photography, and finding inspiration in everyday moments.

I initially prompted Gemini with a description of who I am and what I love to generate a stylized composition that blends reality with a more playful, curated aesthetic. The first result felt too generalized, so I iterated by refining my prompt and incorporating a photo of my actual desk to guide the output toward something more personal and visually accurate.

The final piece reflects both my creative practice—graphic design, UI/UX, and content creation—and the personal elements that shape my perspective, including baking, café-hopping, faith, and collecting meaningful objects.

This exercise showcases how I approach creativity as both intentional and personal, where small details contribute to a larger story. It also allowed me to explore AI as a collaborative tool within my process, reinforcing the importance of iteration, direction, and personal input.

I also asked Gemini to break down how it interpreted my prompt, revealing how it translated my identity into visual elements and arranged them into a cohesive, lived-in composition. This reinforced how AI understands identity through visual systems, and highlighted the importance of specificity and creative direction in shaping meaningful outcomes.
